It was the lowest inflation rate since September, as prices rose less for food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.5 percent vs 2.9 percent in April); transport (3.1 percent vs 4.3 percent) and housing & utilities (4.7 percent vs 4.8 percent). Also, cost fell further for clothing & footwear (-3.3 percent vs -3.0 percent) and communications (-2.0 percent vs -1.1 percent). In contrast, prices were higher for restaurants & hotels (1.4 percent vs 1.0 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.1 percent.
