Belgium Q1 GDP Growth Confirmed at 0.4%

Belgium’s GDP rose by 0.4% in the three months to March 2025, confirming initial estimates, following a 0.2% increase in the prior period.
This marked the strongest quarterly growth in a year, mainly driven by an increase in gross fixed capital formation (0.6% vs 0.4% in Q4).
However, private consumption expenditure slowed down (0.6% vs 0.9%), while government spending dropped (-0.1% vs 0.7%).
On net demand, exports (-0.4% vs 0%) decreased less than imports (-0.5% vs 0.3%).
Compared to the same period last year, the GDP expanded by 1.1%.
