Bahrain Inflation Rate at 0.90 percent  
Consumer prices in Bahrain rose 0.9 percent year-on-year in April of 2017, following a 0.8 percent rise in March. It was the highest inflation rate since December 2016 as prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rebounded (0.4 percent vs -1.5 percent in the prior month) and rose at a faster pace for housing & utilities (3.1 percent from 2.8 percent) and miscellaneous goods and services (3.5 percent vs 3.1 percent). Meanwhile, cost was steady for recreation and culture (0.4 percent) and education (2.6 percent) and went up at a slower pace for restaurants (2.2 percent vs 2.3 percent). Also, prices fell for: furnishing, household, routine maintenance (-0.8 percent vs 1.4 percent); transport (-0.5 percent vs -0.6 percent); clothing (-2.6 percent vs -1.9 percent), and health (-0.9 percent vs -0.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices were flat, after increasing by 0.9 percent in March.
