The annual inflation rate in Angola continued to ease to 9.33% in July 2026 from 10.11% in June, remaining near its lowest level since 2015.
This marked the 24th consecutive month of deceleration, mainly attributed to the sustained stability of the kwanza and improvements in the domestic supply of essential goods.
Softer price growth was observed across most categories, particularly transportation (3.65% vs 15.40% in June).
A similar trend was seen in prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (10.40% vs 10.73%); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (8.61% vs 8.64%); clothing & footwear (6.30% vs 6.59%); housing & utilities (10.17% vs 11.14%) and miscellaneous goods & services (6.38% vs 7.50%).
Conversely, education (25.24% vs 13.40%) and communication (6.67% vs 6.40%) recorded stronger increases.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.75% in July, after a 0.52% increase in the prior month.
