Angola GDP Growth Picks Up to 4-Year High

Angola's economy expanded 8.74% year-on-year in Q2 2026, marking its strongest growth since Q2 2022 and accelerating from 5.32% in the previous quarter.
The non-oil sector remained the main driver, expanding 9.24%, up from 6.22% in Q1, with the services and industrial sectors recording the strongest gains.
The oil sector also contributed positively, growing 5.64% and marking its first quarterly expansion since Q4 2024.
The strongest-performing activities included diamond, metallic mineral and other non-metallic mineral extraction (+16.46%); information and communication (+14.30%); accommodation and food Services (+12.59%); manufacturing (+12.22%); and financial and insurance intermediation (+11.83%).
Subsidies and Taxes also rose sharply, by 116.26% and 37%, respectively.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, GDP grew 2.75%, the fastest pace since Q2 2024, following a 1.37% increase in Q1.
