Senegal’s annual inflation rate rose to 2.2% in August 2025, up from 1.8% the previous month, marking the highest level since April 2024.

Meanwhile, inflation moderated for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.5% vs 8.0%).
In contrast, prices in the information and communication sector continued to decline (-3.1% vs -3.0%).
Excluding energy and fresh products, the core index rose 4.5% year-on-year, following a 4.0% increase in July.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices advanced 1.0% in August, after a 1.1% gain in July, which was the fastest pace in six months.
