Industrial production in Senegal rose by 17.2% year-on-year in June 2025, maintaining double-digit growth for the sixth month running.
The strong performance was largely driven by a 71.4% surge in extractive industries, mainly due to the inclusion of the start of oil extraction in Senegal, and to a lesser extent, by growth in electricity, gas, and water production (+6.4%) as well as environmental industries (+1.6%).
However, manufacturing industries saw a decline of 6.5% during the period under review.
Considering the first half of 2025, industrial production grew by 21.5% compared to the same period in 2024, also boosted by hydrocarbon extraction (+68.1%).
