Philippines Jobless Rate Steady at 3.9%

The unemployment rate in the Philippines stood at 3.9% in March 2025, unchanged from the same month of the previous year.
The number of unemployed individuals decreased to 1.93 million from 2 million in March 2024, while the number of employed persons fell to 48 million from 49.2 million.
Among major industry sectors, the services sector remained the largest in terms of employment, accounting for 62% of the total employed population, followed by agriculture at 20.1%, and industry at 17.9%.
Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate slowed to 62.9%, compared to 65.3% a year earlier.
On average, employed individuals worked 41.2 hours per week, higher than the 40.7 hours recorded in March 2024.
