Palestine’s trade deficit widened to USD 428.0 million in April 2025 from USD 317.5 million in the same month of the previous year.
Imports surged by 34% year-on-year to USD 563.8 million, driven by a 15% increase in purchases from Israel, which made up 53% of the total number of imports, and a 47% rise in purchases from other countries.
Meanwhile, exports grew at a rate of 32% year-on-year to USD 135.8 million, mainly due to a 28% increase in sales to Israel, which accounted for 90% of the country’s total exports.
Exports to other countries also rose by 75%, reversing a 44% drop recorded in the same month of the previous year.
