Namibia Inflation Rate Ticks Down

Namibia's annual inflation rate edged down to 3.5% in July 2025 from 3.7% in the previous month.

Prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.1% vs 6.4% in June), housing and utilities (3.6% vs 4.1%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (2.6% vs 2.9%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (6.0% vs 6.9%), hotels, cafes and restaurants (5.1% vs 5.3%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.5% vs 3.2%).

On the other hand, deflation eased for transport (-1.2% vs -2.2%), while price growth accelerated for clothing and footwear (2.0% vs 1.8%), health (3.2% vs 3.1%), and recreation and culture (3.4% vs 2.5%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.1% in July, after remaining flat in the previous month.
