Mozambique Inflation Rate Up to 4-Month High of 3.4%

The annual inflation rate in Mozambique rose for the second month to 3.37% in March 2026 from 3.20% in the prior month.
This marked the highest reading since last November, amid lingering effects of flooding that disrupted supply chains.
Prices increased faster primarily for food & non-alcoholic beverages (6.20% vs 5.83% in February); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (3.08% vs 2.97%) and restaurants & hotels (5.30% vs 4.95%).
At the same time, prices remained elevated for clothing & footwear (4.68% vs 4.80%).
By contrast, transportation costs continued to fall, though at a slower pace (-0.87% vs -1.52%).
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.22%, after a 0.68% increase in the previous month.
