Morocco Jobless Rate Falls to 13.3% in Q1

The unemployment rate in Morocco declined to 13.3% in Q1 of 2025, down from 13.7% in the same period of the previous year, as the number of unemployed decreased by 15 thousand to 1.630 million and the number of employed increased by 282 thousand to 10.619 million.

Meanwhile, the workforce climbed by 266 thousand to 12.249 million.

The unemployment rate among young people rose to 37.7% from 35.9%, while it dropped to 19.4% from 20.3% among graduates and edged up to 18.5% from 18.3% among women.

Among the employed, the service sector created 216,000 new jobs, the industrial sector added 83,000, and the construction sector contributed 52,000 jobs.

Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors saw a decline of 72,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate in Morocco decreased to 13.1% in Q3 2025, down from 13.6% in the same period a year earlier. The number of unemployed fell by 54,000 to 1.63 million, while employment increased by 167,000 to 10.83 million. Meanwhile, the labor force grew by 112,000 to 12.46 million. The unemployment rate among young people declined to 38.4% from 39.5%, while it fell to 19.0% from 19.8% among graduates and to 10.6% from 13.0% among men. Among the employed, the construction sector added 90,000 new jobs, the services sector created 94,000, and the industrial sector contributed 29,000. In contrast, agriculture, forestry, and fishing saw a decline of 47,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate in Morocco decreased to 12.8% in Q2 of 2025, down from 13.1% in the same period of the previous year. It marked the lowest jobless rate since Q2 of 2023, as the number of unemployed dropped by 38 thousand to a six-quarter low of 1.595 million, while the number of employed increased by 5 thousand to a two-year high of 10.863 million. Meanwhile, the workforce declined by 32 thousand to 12.458 million. The unemployment rate among young people declined to 35.8% from 36.1%, while it dropped to 19.0% from 19.4% among graduates and declined to 10.8% from 11.7% among men. Among the employed, the construction sector added 74 thousand new jobs, the services sector created 35 thousand, and the industry sector contributed 2 thousand jobs. Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors saw a decline of 108 thousand jobs.
