Mongolia Inflation Rate Hits 8-Month Low

The annual inflation rate in Mongolia edged down to 8.1% in July 2025 from 8.2% in the previous month.
This marked the lowest reading since November 2024, as prices moderated for housing and utilities (19.9% vs 21% in June), transport (2.9% vs 4.3%), furnishings, household equipment and tools (6.3% vs 6.5%), recreation and culture (6% vs 6.2%), restaurants and hotels (12% vs 12.1%), and miscellaneous goods and services (10% vs 10.7%).
On the other hand, costs increased at a faster pace for food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.4% vs 5.6%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.3% vs 3.7%), health (5.2% vs 5.1%), and communication (0.8% vs 0%).
Additionally, prices were stable for clothing and footwear (9.1%), education (18.2%), and insurance and financial services (15.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in July, compared to a 0.2% increase in the previous month.
