Malawi Inflation Rate Softens to 3-1/2-Year Low of 24.9%

The annual inflation rate in Malawi eased for the third month to 24.9% in January 2026, the lowest since July 2022, compared to December's 26%.
Food inflation slowed to 22.1% in January from 26.5% in December, while non-food inflation accelerated to 29.8% from 25.2% in the previous month.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 3.7%, after a 3% increase in the prior month.
