Annual inflation in Jordan stood at 1.9% in August 2024, unchanged from July’s six-month high.
Upward contributions largely came from prices of personal luggage (15.4%), dried and canned vegetables and legumes (9.7%), water and sanitation (7.3%), unions (5.9%), and culture and entertainment (5.1%).
However, it was partially offset by the recorded falls in carpets, and bedding (-3.0%), oil & fats (-2.1%), clothing (-1.6%), and housing maintenance services(-1.4%).
On a monthly basis, the CPI was up by 0.2%, the same as in the previous two months.
