Georgia Inflation Rate Hits 30-Month High

The annual inflation rate in Georgia rose to 4.8% in September 2025 from 4.6% in the previous month, marking the highest reading since March 2023.
The increase was mainly attributed to higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (11.9% vs 10.0% in August), restaurants and hotels (7.1% vs 6.8%), and housing and utilities (0.9% vs 0.8%).
At the same time, costs fell at a softer pace for clothing and footwear (-2.0% vs -2.9%) and transport (-2.1% vs -2.4%).
Meanwhile, inflation slowed for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.1% vs 4.7%), health (9.0% vs 9.3%), education (2.8% vs 4.6%), and miscellaneous goods and services (4.3% vs 5.5%).
Deflation also deepened for furnishings, household equipment and maintenance (-3.7% vs -1.4%) and recreation and culture (-1.3% vs -0.2%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 0.5% in September, following a 0.3% gain in the previous month.
