Botswana Balance of Trade at 1146.10 BWP Million  
Botswana recorded a trade surplus of 1146 million in June of 2017, well below a BWP 2620 million surplus a year earlier. Exports slumped 33.7 percent year-on-year to BWP 5635 million, dragged down mainly by lower sales of diamonds (-31.2 percent) and copper and nickel (-98.3 percent). Imports declined 23.7 percent to BWP 4489 million, due to a fall in purchases of fuel (-86.8 percent); machinery and electrical equipment (-49.1 percent) and chemicals and rubber products (-33.8 percent). Considering the second quarter of the year, the country's trade surplus declined 88.8 percent year-on-year to BWP 913.9 million as exports declined 41.6 percent and imports fell at a slower 19.1 percent.
