Uruguay Trade Deficit Widens in September

Uruguay’s trade deficit widened to USD 16.94 million in September 2025 from USD 11.94 million a year earlier.
Imports rose 4.7% year-on-year to USD 1.18 billion.
Purchases of consumer goods increased 4.3%, with foods and beverages up 1.4% and vehicles 1.1%.
Imports of capital goods grew 1.1%, as machinery and equipment rose 1.4%.
Purchases of intermediate goods fell 0.3%, with oil and distilled imports down 3.1%.
Exports advanced 12.9% to USD 1.17 billion.
Shipments of primary products increased 19.5%, and manufactured goods 10.3%, while utilities exports declined 14.3%.
