Uruguay Posts Record Trade Surplus in June

Uruguay posted a record $408.8 million trade surplus in June 2025, up from $176.5 million a year earlier—the highest since the historical series began in 1995.
Exports surged 31.2% year-on-year to $1.28 billion, mainly driven by a 61.7% jump in primary goods and a 10.9% increase in manufactured goods, while utility-related exports declined 17.4%.
Imports rose more moderately, up 9.1% to $872 million, as purchases of consumer goods grew by 4.5%, intermediate goods by 3.8%, and capital goods by 0.5%.
