South Sudan Slashes Key Interest Rate to 13%

The Central Bank of South Sudan cut its benchmark interest rate by 200 bps to 13 percent during an unscheduled meeting on April 28th 2020, to help to cushion the economy from the negative effects of the novel coronavirus.

The Committee also reduced the reserve requirement ratio by the same margin to 18% from 20%, in order to boost liquidity and support lenders.
