Kosovo Trade Gap Expands in April

Kosovo’s trade deficit widened to EUR 492.3 million in April 2025 from EUR 427.5 million in the same month the previous year.

Exports edged up 0.9% year-on-year to EUR 73.8 million, with shipments to the EU increasing 1.2% to EUR 25.3 million, accounting for 34.2% of total exports.

The top export destinations were Germany (12%), the Netherlands (3%), and Italy (2.8%).

Meanwhile, imports rose 13.1% to EUR 566.2 million, despite a 2.4% decline in imports from the EU to EUR 237.6 million, which represents 42% of total imports.

Germany remained the largest import source (13.9%), followed by Italy (4.6%) and Poland (3.8%).
