Fiji Consumer Prices Fall 0.6% in June

Consumer prices in Fiji dropped by 0.6% year-on-year in June 2025, reversing a 0.1% rise in the previous month.

This marked the second decline in consumer prices so far this year, as most prices fell.

Downward price pressures came from food and non-alcoholic beverages (-2.6% vs -1.5% in May), housing (-1.4% vs -1.2%), transport (-4.4% vs -3.5%), clothing and footwear (-2.5% vs -0.7%), recreation and culture (-0.6% vs -0.6%), and furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (-0.6% vs 0.4%).

Upward price pressures were seen in alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.1% vs 4.7%), education (0.5% vs 0.5%), and miscellaneous goods and services (9.0% vs 8.8%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.2% in June, easing slightly from a 0.3% gain in May.
