Spain Producer Price Inflation Remains Elevated
Producer inflation in Spain was recorded at 45 percent year-on-year in April of 2022, easing slightly from an all-time high of 47 percent in the previous month. Costs eased for energy (119 percent 136.5 percent in March) and durable consumer goods (7.1 percent vs 7.4 percent). On the other hand, prices rose faster for non-durable consumer goods (10.2 percent vs 8.6 percent), intermediate goods (25.6 percent vs 22.78 percent) and capital goods (5.6 percent vs 5.1 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 1.6 percent, after a 6.7 percent rise in March.

Spanish Factory-Gate Inflation Breaks Record for 6th Month
Spain’s producer price inflation climbed to a fresh record high of 46.6 percent year-on-year in March of 2022 from an upwardly revised 41.2 percent in the previous month. It was the sixth consecutive month of record producer inflation in Spain. Energy costs (134.6 percent) led the increase, followed by intermediate goods (22.9 percent), consumer goods (8.5 percent) and capital goods (5.1 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 6.6 percent in March.
