Romania's annual inflation rate increased to 4.95 percent in July of 2021 from 3.94 percent a month earlier. It was the highest inflation rate since September 2018, due to a faster rise in prices of food products (2.3 percent vs 2.2 percent in June), non-food products (7.6 percent vs 5.7 percent). Meantime, services inflation was steady (at 2.7 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.97 percent in July, the highest in 6 months, following a 0.27 percent rise in June.

Romania's annual inflation rate inched up to 3.94 percent in June of 2021 from 3.75 percent a month earlier and above market estimates of 3.7 percent. It was the highest inflation rate since December 2019, due to a faster rise in prices of food products (2.2 percent vs 1.5 percent in May), while non-food products inflation was unchanged (at 5.7 percent). Meantime, prices of services continued to increase (2.7 percent vs 2.8 percent in May). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.27 percent in June, after increasing by 0.5 percent in May.

Romania's annual inflation rate increased to 3.75 percent in May of 2021 from 3.24 percent a month earlier and above market estimates of 3.5 percent. It was the highest inflation rate since December 2019, due to a faster rise in prices of services (2.8 percent vs 2.6 percent in April), non-food products (5.7 percent vs 5.2 percent) and food products (1.5 percent vs 0.8 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.5 percent in May, the same pace as in April.
