Industrial production in Romania fell by 6.9 percent year-on-year in April of 2022, following an upwardly revised 4.0 percent drop a month earlier. It was the third straight month of decline in industrial production and the steepest decrease since July 2020, as production fell faster for all sectors: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-11.1% vs -8.7%), mining and quarrying (-11.3% vs -2.9%) and manufacturing (-6.5% vs -0.5%). On a monthly basis, industrial output grew by 0.7 percent in April, reversing from an upwardly revised 0.9 percent drop in the previous month.
