The economy of Qatar advanced by 2% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2021, following a 2.6% growth in the previous three-month period. It was the third consecutive quarter of expansion after a pandemic-induced recession, as the rollback of Covid-19 restrictions boosted the non-mining and quarrying sector (2.3 percent). Main positive contributions came from transportation & storage (25.6%); information and communication (16.2%); accommodation and food service activities (12.9%) and professional, scientific and technical activities; administrative and support service activities (7.8%).
