The number of visitor arrivals in New Zealand fell by 27.3 percent year-on-year in October of 2021, as pandemic related travel restrictions continue to hurt the tourism sector. Declines were seen in visitors from Australia (-800), the United States (-300), and the United Kingdom (-100). On the other hand, overseas visitor arrivals increased by 1400 in October 2021 compared with September 2021, which had 2300 visitor arrivals.

The number of visitor arrivals in New Zealand fell by 58.1% yoy to 2,310 in September of 2021, the lowest reading since May of 2021, as travel restrictions related with the coronavirus spread continue to hurt the tourism sector. Declines were mostly seen in visitors from Australia (down 1,400), the United Kingdom (down 500) and the United States (down 300). Overseas visitor arrivals decreased by 400 in September 2021 compared with August 2021, which had 2,700 overseas visitor arrivals.
