Manufacturing production increased by 2.9 percent vs. -3 percent in February, and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply increased by 2.7 percent compared to an 11.9 decrease. On the other hand, mining production dropped by 13.6 percent vs. 75.8 percent. On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 17.1 percent.

Moldova Industrial Output Falls for 1st Time in Over a Year
Industrial production in Moldova shrank by 4.4 percent year-on-year in February of 2022, following a downwardly revised 13.4 percent increase in the previous month. It was the first decline in industrial activity since January of 2021, amid poor performance in manufacturing (-3 percent vs 15.2 percent in January) and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (-11.9 percent vs 7.8 percent). On the other hand, mining production continued to expand solidly (75.8 percent vs 64.7 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 1.3 percent, reversing a 29.9 percent slump in the previous month.
