Mexico's auto exports increased by 18.3 percent from a year earlier to 234.4 thousand units in June of 2021. Among major exporters, shipments rose the most for Nissan (24.6 percent to 30.8 thousand units), Toyota (105.7 percent to 22.0 thousand units), Volkswagen (131.7 percent to 13.8 thousand units), and Audi (720.4 percent to 13.1 thousand units), while exports of General Motors vehicles remained virtually unchanged (0.1 percent to 67.6 thousand units).

Mexico Auto Exports Jump In May
Mexico's auto exports jumped almost 1500 percent from a year earlier to 242 thousand units in May of 2021, amid global re-opening efforts and also due to a low base effect. Among major exporters, shipments from all main brands surged, particularly from General Motors (6498% to 53.3 thousand), Nissan (855.7% to 32.5 thousand), Stellantis (11235.8% to 30.4 thousand) and Toyota (591.5% to 19.2 thousand). In May 2020, Mexico only exported 15 thousand vehicles amid global Covid-19 restrictions.

Mexico's auto exports jumped 652.3 percent from a year earlier to 234.6 thousand units in April 2021, ending a three-month sequence of declines, amid global re-opening efforts. Among major exporters, shipments from all main brands surged, particularly from Nissan (up 27,854 percent to 25.4 thousand), Ford Motor (up 5,667 percent to 20.6 thousand), General Motors (up 949 percent to 55.4 thousand) and FCA México (up 203 percent to 27.8 thousand).
