Mexico’s auto exports rose 1.1 percent from a year earlier to 244,643 units in May of 2022, following a 2.9 percent increase in the previous period. Mexico Auto Exports Rise Further in April
Mexico’s auto exports rose 2.9 percent from a year earlier to 241,286 units in April of 2022, amid signs that the global semiconductors shortage is easing. Among major exporting brands, shipments rose substantially for Ford Motor (86.9 percent to 38,578 units) and Volkswagen (27.1 percent to 27,986 units. On the other hand, major decreases were observed in General Motors (-5.7 percent to 52,227 units) and Stellantis (-20.8 percent to 22,016).

Mexico Auto Exports Snap 8 Months of Declines
Mexico’s auto exports rose 2.5 percent over a year earlier to 262,494 units in March of 2022, ending eight straight months of declines, amid easing signs of the global shortage of semiconductors. Among major exporting brands, shipments rose substantially for GM (38.5 percent to 67,352 units); Ford (9.7 percent to 27,878 units); Toyota (39.9 percent to 24,501 units); and to a lesser extent, Chrysler (1.7 percent to 26,426 units). On the other hand, major losses were observed in Volkswagen (-11.7 percent to 22,557 units) and Nissan (-42.9 percent to 27,648 units).
