It was the largest gain in industrial activity since the second quarter of 2021 as output accelerated for manufacturing (7.9 percent vs 5.4 percent in Q4); water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation (9 percent vs 1.7 percent); and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (7.3 percent vs 3.1 percent).
