Malaysia’s current account surplus jumped to MYR 14.41 billion in the second quarter of 2021 from MYR 7.70 billion in the same period of the previous year, as the surplus of goods account climbed to MYR 40.67 billion from MYR 25.83 billion a year ago. At the same time, the deficit of secondary income narrowed to MYR 1.38 billion from MYR 1.94 billion. Meanwhile, the gap of services account increased to MYR 15.42 billion from MYR 12.37 billion and that of primary income widened sharply to MYR 9.46 billion from MYR 3.83 billion.
