The annual inflation rate in Macedonia accelerated for the tenth straight month to 10.5 percent in April of 2022, from 8.8 percent in the prior month, the highest since records began in 2006. Main upward pressure came from prices of transport (21.8 percent), food & non-alcoholic beverages (14.8 percent), housing & utilities (8.1 percent), alcoholic beverages & tobacco (7.9 percent), and restaurants & hotels (9.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 2.2 percent, after a 1.6 percent increase in the previous month.

The annual inflation rate in Macedonia accelerated for the ninth straight month to 8.8 percent in March of 2022, from 7.6 percent in the prior month.
