Lithuania Current Account Gap Widens Sharply
Lithuania’s current account deficit widened significantly to EUR 342.7 million in March of 2022 from EUR 34.6 million in the same month of the previous year. The goods account gap expanded to EUR 651.5 million from EUR 363.5 million, while the services surplus slightly narrowed to EUR 420.9 million, from EUR 471.2 million. Meanwhile, the primary income deficit shrank to EUR 139.4 from EUR 189.9, whilst the secondary income surplus of EUR 27.3 million, from EUR 47.6 million.

Lithuania Current Account Swings to Deficit in February
Lithuania recorded a current account deficit of EUR 131.2 million in February of 2022 from a EUR 319.4 million surplus from the same month of the previous year. The goods account gap significantly widened to EUR 433.6 million from EUR 31.2 million, while the services surplus slightly eased to EUR 413.4 million from EUR 461.4 million. At the same time, the primary income deficit widened to EUR 118.4 from EUR 108.6. On the other hand, the secondary income account recorded a surplus of EUR 7.4 million, swinging from a EUR 2.3 million gap.
