In Kyrgyzstan, industrial production measures the output of businesses integrated in industrial sector of the economy. Manufacturing is the most important sector and accounts for 78.1 percent of total production. The biggest segments within manufacturing are: metals (62.2 percent); food products and tobacco (16.1 percent); rubber and plastics (9.8 percent); and coke and refined petroleum products (4.1 percent). Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply accounts for 15.1 percent of total output, mining and quarrying for 5.7 percent and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation for 0.9 percent.
