The annual inflation rate in Kuwait edged up to 4.30 percent in December of 2021, the highest level since October 2011, from 3.89 percent in the previous month. Prices advanced faster for housing (2.35 percent vs 0.78 percent in November), food & beverages (7.20 percent vs 6.98 percent), clothing (5.66 percent vs 5.61 percent) and transport (4.54 percent vs 4.25 percent). On the other hand, furnishing and household equipment prices rose at a softer pace (2.36 percent vs 2.69 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.79 percent, after increasing 0.33 percent in the previous month.
