Kuwait Inflation Rate Slows to 3.8% in October
The inflation rate in Kuwait slowed down to 3.8 percent in October of 2021, from a more than 5-year high of 4.1 hit in September. Prices slowed down for food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.7 percent vs 8.2 percent in September); clothing & footwear (5.4 percent vs 6 percent); furnishings (2.5 percent vs 2.8 percent) and recreation & culture (3.7 percent vs 4.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.25 percent, below a 1.3 percent increase in the previous month.
Kuwait Inflation Rate Quickens in June
Annual inflation rate in Kuwait rose to 3.36 percent in June of 2021 from 3.20 percent in May of 2021. That was the highest rate since September of 2016, as prices advanced faster for food & beverages (11.47 percent vs 11.34 percent in May); transport (5.49 percent vs 4.23 percent); housing & utilities (0.17 percent vs 0.09 percent); clothing & footwear (6.17 percent vs 5.93 percent); recreation & culture (8.37 percent vs 7.82 percent); and health (2.27 percent vs 2.09 percent). Meanwhile, inflation slowed for communication (4.43 percent vs 4.8 percent); and miscellaneous goods & services (4.22 percent vs 4.69 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.5 percent, above 0.34 percent uptick in the previous month.
