Kazakhstan Producer Price Inflation Moderates
Kazakhstan’s producer price inflation fell to 41.3 percent year-on-year in April of 2022, from a four-month high of 47.1 percent jump in the prior month, as inflationary pressures moderated in all products. The slowdown was most noticed in prices of metals (31.7 percent vs 39.9 percent in March), followed by food (33.1 percent vs 39.2 percent) and energy resources (17.4 percent vs 23.3 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up by 0.7 percent, slowing sharply from a 12.4 percent surge in the previous month.

Kazakhstan Producer Inflation Jumps to 4-Month High
Producer prices in Kazakhstan climbed by 47.1 percent year-on-year in March of 2022, accelerating from a 39.1 percent jump in the prior month, amid rising global commodity prices. It was the highest producer inflation since November of 2021, boosted mainly by prices of mining and quarrying (+20 percent compared to last month),followed by manufacturing industries (+3.6 percent), and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (0.1 percent).On a monthly basis, producer prices went up by 12.4 percent, accelerating sharply from a 2.6 percent rise in the previous month.

Kazakhstan Producer Price Inflation Moderates
Kazakhstan’s annual producer price inflation eased to 46.1 percent in December of 2021, from a five-month high of 48.5 percent jump in November, amid low base year effects and rising global commodity prices amid ongoing supply chain issues. Prices rose the most in mining & quarrying (67.5 percent vs 73.1 percent in November); followed by manufacturing industries (23.0 percent vs 23.1 percent); electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (11.9 percent vs 11.7 percent); and lastly water supply & sewerage cost (2.5 percent vs 2.7 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 0.8 percent, slowing sharply from a 5.5 percent jump in November. For the year, producer prices surged 32.1 percent over the previous year, compared with a 4.2 percent decline in 2020.
