This was also the ninth straight month of increases in cost of food, as main upward pressure came from fresh food (12.3% vs 12.2% in April), fish & seafood (9.0% vs 8.7%), fresh vegetables (13.1% vs 12.2%), meats (2.7% vs 2.6%), fresh fruits (11.0% vs 12.2%), dairy products (1.1% vs 0.5%), cakes & candies (3.2% vs 2.6%), oils, fats (6.3% vs 6.1%), beverages (1.2% vs 3.8%), meals outside the home (2.2% vs 1.8%), cereal (3.2% vs 2.8%), and cooked food (3.4% vs 3.5%).
