The economy of Ghana expanded by 5.4% from a year earlier in 2021, the most in two years, beating forecasts by the government (4.4%) and the International Monetary Fund (4.2%). The services sector recorded the highest growth rate of 9.4%, followed by agriculture (8.4%). Meanwhile, the industrial sector contracted (-0.8%), mainly due to poor performance in mining (-12.1%), on account of oil and gas (-12.5%).
