The S&P Global France Services PMI fell to 53.9 in June of 2022, from 58.3 in May and compared to a flash estimate of 54.4. The latest reading pointed to the weakest pace of growth in the services sector since the Omicron disruption was at its peak in January. Both activity and new orders rose at much softer rates in June, as economic uncertainty dampened demand. Employment also continued to increase, although at a slightly weaker pace. At the same time, inflationary pressures remained severe, with input costs rising at a record pace. As a result, service providers raised their own selling prices rapidly. Finally, companies remained optimistic on balance that output will rise in line with higher new business amid a post-COVID recovery, but confidence dropped to the lowest since January 2021. source: Markit Economics
