Finnish Current Account Gap Widens Sharply
Current account deficit in Finland surged to EUR 1,222 million in March 2022 from EUR 748 million in the same month a year ago, pointing to the third straight month of gap and representing the largest figure since last October. The gap of secondary income widened slightly to EUR 342 million from EUR 336 million in the previous year, while the goods account turned to a deficit of EUR 509 million from a surplus of EUR 167 million. Meantime, the shortfall of services account narrowed to EUR 443 million from EUR 492 million a year earlier, while the primary income reversed to a surplus of EUR 72 million from a deficit of EUR 87 million.

Finland Posts First Current Account Gap in 4 Months
Finland posted a current account deficit of EUR 106 million in February 2022, shifting from a surplus of EUR 157 million in the same month a year ago. It was the first current account deficit in four months, with the goods account turning to a deficit of EUR 276 million from a surplus of EUR 50 million in the previous year. At the same time, the gap of services account widened to EUR 321 million from EUR 295 million and that of secondary income fell to EUR 295 million from EUR 279 million gap. Meanwhile, the surplus of primary income increased to EUR 785 million from EUR 681 million a year earlier.
