The Finnish consumer confidence indicator plunged to -3.5 in December 2021 from 1.2 in the previous month, moving into the negative territory for the first time in 9 months and falling below the long-term average of -1.7. The latest reading was also the lowest level since December 2020, as expectations regarding Finland's economy in 12 months were much more negative (-7.4 vs -2.4 in November) while expectations concerning their own economy weakened sharply (7.2 vs 10.7). Also, intentions to spend money on durable goods in the next 12 months (7.0 vs 14.6) and consumers’ views on the economy (-15.5 vs -14.5) deteriorated.

The Finnish consumer confidence indicator declined to 1.2 in November of 2021 from 2.7 in the previous month, reaching the lowest reading since March. Expectations regarding Finland's economy in 12 months deteriorated into negative territory (-2.4 vs 5.0 in October), while expectations concerning their own economy weakened (10.7 vs 11.8). At the same time, intentions to spend money on durable goods in the next 12 months (14.6 vs 17) and consumers’ views on the economy (-14.5 vs -7.8) weakened.
