Colombia's retail sales soared 32 percent over a year earlier in August of 2021, following a 26.9 percent increase in July and above market expectations of a 27.4 percent jump. It was the seventh consecutive month of growth and the biggest since April. The most important contributions came from sales of auto fuels (33.3 percent); household automobiles and motorcycles (74.7 percent); other automobiles and motorcycles (77.4 percent); clothing (100.6 percent); and auto parts, accessories, and lubricants (42.8 percent).
