Colombia Imports Rise Sharply in December
Imports to Colombia increased by 49.9 percent over a year to USD 6.2 billion in December of 2021, after hitting a record USD 6.5 billion in the previous month. Main upward pressure came from purchases of manufactured goods (44.5 percent); agricultural products, food & beverages (51.2 percent); and fuels and products of extractive industries (137.3 percent). The most important countries of origin were China (26.1 percent of the total); the US (22.9 percent); Mexico (6.1 percent) and Brazil (5.3 percent).

Colombia Imports Hit Record High
Colombian imports jumped by 56.3 percent over a year to an all-time high of USD 6.5 billion in November of 2021, partly reflecting low base effects and amid the ongoing recovery. Purchases grew significantly for manufactured products (50.8 percent); fuels and extraction industries (190.2 percent) and agricultural products, food & beverages (35.3 percent). The largest import partners were the US (25.6 percent of total imports), followed by China (22.8 percent), Mexico (6.1 percent) and Brazil (5.5 percent).

Colombia Imports Increase 56.8% YoY in October
Colombian imports jumped by 56.8 percent over a year to a seven-year high of USD 5.8 billion, partly reflecting low base effects and amid the ongoing recovery. Inbound sales grew significantly for manufactured products (48.7 percent); fuels and extraction industries (192.1 percent) and agricultural products, food & beverages (54.7 percent). The largest import partners were China (25.2 percent of total imports), the US (25 percent), Mexico (5.9 percent), and Brazil (5.8 percent). Year to date the imports recorded a 37.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year jumping to USD 48,345.8 billion.
