The industrial capacity utilization rate in China rose to 77.1 in the third quarter of 2021 from 76.7 in the same period a year earlier, as a recovery in the economy from the COVID-19 disruption continued. The utilization rate rose for all categories: mining (76.9 percent vs 73.9 in Q3 2020); manufacturing (77.3 percent vs 76.3 percent); and electricity, heat, and gas, water (75.3 percent vs 72.8 percent). In the June quarter of 2021, the industrial capacity utilization rate was at a record high of 78.4 percent.
