Chile Current Account Gap Widens in Q4
The current account deficit in Chile widened to USD 7554 million in the last quarter of 2022 from USD 1101 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. The primary income gap rose to USD 4636 million from USD 4551 million a year earlier and the goods and services account recorded a USD 2968 million shortfall, swinging from a USD 3947 million surplus. Meanwhile, the secondary income account posted a USD 50 million surplus, compared to a USD 497 million gap.

Chile Current Account Swings to Deficit in Q3
Chile recorded a current account deficit of USD 6504 million in the third quarter of 2021, swinging from an upwardly revised surplus of USD 627 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. The primary income deficit jumped to USD 4,973 million from USD 2,593 million a year ago and secondary income surplus decreased to USD 115 million from USD 429 million. Also, the good surplus went down to USD 1015 million from USD 4120 million while services shortfall widened to USD 2661 million from USD 1329 million in the prior year.
