Bulgaria Producer Inflation Drops from Record High
Producer inflation in Bulgaria eased to 32.3% year-on-year in February of 2022, from a record high of 32.6% in the previous month, amid a slight slowdown in prices of electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (81.8% vs 85.7% in January). Meanwhile, costs continued to climb for manufacturing (17.9% vs 17.1%) and mining & quarrying (9.7% vs 3.9%). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 1%, the smallest increase since last June, after a 3.2% surge in the prior month.

Bulgaria Producer Inflation Hits All-Time High
Producer inflation in Bulgaria quickened to a new record high of 32.6 percent year-on-year in January of 2022, from 30.8 percent in the previous month, mainly due to soaring prices of electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (85.7 percent vs 79.9 percent in December). Costs also advanced faster for manufacturing (17.1 percent vs 16.2 percent), but slowed for mining (3.9 percent vs 9.4 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices jumped by 3.2 percent, accelerating from a 1.7 percent rise in December.
