Bulgaria’s trade deficit rose sharply to BGN 713.5 million in April of 2022 from BGN 176.6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Imports jumped by 37.5 percent to BGN 8362.2 million, edging down from an all-time high of BGN 8960.1 million hit last month. Purchases increased to both EU countries (23.6 percent) and non-EU countries (57.8 percent).
