Business sentiment has risen for the fourth consecutive month to its highest since February of 2020, amid improvements in the entrepreneur's perception of current conditions (57.5 vs 55.7 in July and future expectations (66 vs 65.2).

The industry confidence indicator in Brazil edged up to a seven-month high of 62.0 in July 2021, from 61.7 in the previous month. It was also the highest reading for a month of July since 2010, mainly due to the more positive perception of the conditions of the Brazilian economy. The index measuring entrepreneurs' assessment of the current economy rose to 54.4 from 52.8 in June, and the gauge for economic expectations increased to 62.4 from 61.9. In addition, the company's current situation improved (56.4 from 55.8), while the company's outlook deteriorated slightly.

In Brazil, the Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (ICEI) measures the current situation of businesses and its future prospects. The survey covers about 2,500 companies in construction, mining and manufacturing industries. The questionnaire is made by phone and focuses on: production trends in recent months, order books, export order books, stocks and production expectations. The indicator varies on a scale of 0 to 100 where 50 indicates neutrality, 0 indicates extreme lack of confidence and 100 extreme confidence.
