The industrial producer price index in Austria advanced 20.9 percent year-on-year in May of 2022, easing from an upwardly revised 21.6 percent rise in the previous month. It was the smallest increase in producer prices since February. Prices eased for energy (50.1 percent vs 53.0 percent in April), for the first time since February last year; and intermediate goods (19.5 percent vs 19.7 percent). In contrast, prices went up faster for consumer goods (6.4 percent vs 6.1 percent) and capital goods (4.3 percent vs 4 percent).
