Private house approvals in Australia declined by 3.0 percent month-over-month to 9,932 units in March 2022, matching the preliminary data and shifting from a 14.6 percent jump in the previous month The latest figure marked the second drop in private house permits since the start of the year. Approvals mainly fell in New South Wales (-7.5 percent), Victoria (-5.0 percent), and South Australia (-2.2 percent). In contrast, approvals grew in both Queensland (5.8 percent) and Western Australia (0.3 percent).
